Read-A-Thon to Benefit Local Food Pantry
Read-A-Thon for the Local Food Pantry

Students will be participating in a Read-A-Thon sponsored by our Bible Labs program to rasie food/money/awareness of needs for our local food pantry, Feed My Sheep, in Lena, WI.  Feed My Sheep helps 25-35 individuals each Tuesday, representing 25+ families.  With the rising cost of gas, the price of groceries and other essential items are also increasing, and the effect on struggling families is increasing the need for help.  Students will be reading from April 18-27 to earn food for the food pantry.  Money is also accepted, and will be used to shop for food to take in.

The students have already taken a food donation to the food pantry this spring, and interviewed the volunteers that operate it.  With the help of the volunteers, the students have gleaned a better understanding of the needs within our community, how they can help, and why their help is needed.  100% of all food and monetary donations will be used to benefit the food pantry.  The volunteers have encouraged that the students go ahead and do the shopping with the funds, so that the lessons will be longer lasting.

Please be generous when the students contact you, to solicit your support!  This is a great way to encourage our students as they try to provide a service to our friends and neighbors.
