Pathways Reading Program
.
New Integrated Language Arts-Reading program implemented for 2007-2008!

Pathways, a program developed by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist in cooperation with Kendall-Hunt Publishers, is being phased into our school.  Students in grades 1-4 will work on a new approach to learning.  Traditional reading textbooks are being replaced with content rich, vibrant, high-interest library books.  Traditional workbooks are being replaced with hands-on interactive projects, skill lessons, and student portfolios.  Reading, writing, handwriting, spelling, grammar, mechanics, phonics, and library skills all form the backbone of this program as students work in content areas of science, social studies, and Bible.  Art, music, physical education, math, and maps are also evident in this integration.  This is an exciting change to our academic program that should help students develop enjoyment of and excellence in their academic pursuits and lifetime learning.  Students in grades 5-8 will be fully integrated into this exciting program as it becomes available from the publisher.
